Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about G1 Golf
Here are the questions we hear most. If yours isn’t here, reach out — we’re happy to talk through anything.
About the Program
What age is G1 Golf designed for?
G1 Golf is built for children ages 3 to 9. The modified equipment, games-based teaching methods, and curriculum are all designed specifically for this age group.
What golf skills do kids actually learn?
Kids learn the four foundational golf strokes: putting, chipping, pitching, and the full swing. Everything is taught through games, repetitive motion, and learning rhymes.
Do kids learn anything beyond golf?
Yes — every experience includes daily life skills and virtues curriculum. Kids work on patience, self-control, kindness, faithfulness, and integrity. We also use disc golf and soccer movements to build direction, distance, and coordination.
Is G1 Golf faith-based?
Yes. The character development curriculum has a faith-based foundation. G1 also partners with YMCAs, public schools, and secular nonprofits — reach out if you’d like to talk through how the content fits your context.
How is G1 Golf different from other junior golf programs?
G1 is the only introductory program that combines modified age-appropriate equipment, games-based play curriculum, and faith-based character development — all delivered off-course in everyday community spaces.
Facilities & Setup
Does my community need a golf course?
Not at all. G1 programs run in gymnasiums, soccer fields, multipurpose rooms, and other community spaces. No golf course is needed — ever.
How much space is required?
A standard six-station layout fits in a full-size basketball court. Smaller configurations work for tighter spaces. For outdoor setups, a soccer field works great.
How long does setup take?
With a standard kit and a trained coach, setup takes about 30 minutes. Teardown is even faster.
How many kids can participate at once?
The format scales well — from a focused 8–10 person clinic to a 60-kid camp day. Larger groups just need additional coaches at each station.
Do kids need their own equipment?
Nope. G1 provides all the equipment. Parents don’t need to buy anything — just drop the kids off.
Partnership & Pricing
What’s included in a G1 Golf partnership?
Your annual partnership includes: specialized golf learning equipment, a proven games-based curriculum with regular updates, life skills curriculum, live and on-demand coach training, and a Partner Media Kit with customizable marketing materials.
How much does a G1 Golf partnership cost?
G1 is priced to be competitive with other youth recreational sports programs — not golf. Reach us at [email protected] or 864-597-9189 for specific pricing.
Are scholarships available?
Yes. G1 believes cost should never keep a kid from playing. Scholarships are available for communities and families that need extra support.
What kind of training do coaches receive?
Live, online, and on-demand training covering station setup, equipment, curriculum delivery, and managing young kids. No golf background required.
